Our Dog & Pet friendly Cottages
We understand that your pet is part of your family. Our pet friendly cottages in Lancashire are designed for you to bring your dog with you on your holiday. Our pet-friendly cottages can be booked all year round. Each pet-friendly cottage allows one pet per booking with a fee of £40.00. Our dog-friendly cottages include our Hollins Cottage and Cove Lodge, both of which are ready to welcome you and your pup for a holiday filled with exploration and adventure.
All of our cottages come with access to the facilities at Silverdale Holiday Park, which includes a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room plus kids indoor and outdoor play areas.
Hollins Cottage, tucked in on the edge of our 5-star holiday park at Hollins Farm, is ready to welcome you, your family and your pet to the Silverdale & Arnside AONB. Hollins Cottage is perfect for your family getaway, sleeping up to 6 humans and one four-legged friend. The cottage has been exquisitely decorated and kitted out with everything a family will need. There’s a private walled garden so you can sit outside and stunning views across Morecambe Bay. The cottage is situated next to the holiday park but also amongst the working farm, so you’ll have a break with a difference.
While Hollins Cottage is happy to welcome your pup, there’s only one allowed per booking and there’s an additional fee of £40.00.
If you want to escape to a private dog friendly holiday cottage, then Cove Lodge is perfect for you. Cove Lodge sleeps up to 4 people and is just moments away from the sea in a secluded corner of Silverdale. With a large private garden and a beautifully furnished interior, complete with art from local artists, Cove Lodge is perfect for you, your family and your best four-legged friend. The cottage has a log-burner with a starter kit, making it an excellent option at any time of year.
If you want to bring your pooch with you to Cove Lodge you’ll need to pay an additional fee of £40.00. Dogs are limited to one per booking.
Dog friendly days out in the lake district
The Lake District is just a short drive from our dog-friendly holiday cottages, and it’s the perfect place to take your dog for a day out. Whether you want to visit a distillery, go on a lake cruise or simply take your dog on a hike, there’s a dog-friendly day out in the Lake District for you. Below you’ll find a few suggestions for a day out with your dog in the Lake District.
- The Lakes Distillery – learn all about the distillation process and stock up on some excellent spirits.
- Windermere Lake Cruises – see Windermere from the water and take your pup with you. Enjoy stunning views and learn all about the lake and surrounding area.
- Yew Tree Barn – explore a barn filled with Antiques and other wonders, along with an on-site blacksmith and cafe.
- Lakeland Motor Museum – learn everything you’d ever want to know about the humble automobile and discover vintage cars, all with your dog in tow!
A number of attractions allow dogs in their gardens and cafes too, but it’s always worth checking that attraction’s website before you go, just in case.
Local dog friendly things to do
If you want to stay a little closer to your cottage, there are so many dog-friendly things to do in the Silverdale & Arnside AONB too, as well as Lancaster and Kendal and the wider Lancashire area, all of which are just a short journey away.
For starters, there are numerous wonderful walks in the Silverdale & Arnside AONB that are perfect for your dog. You could visit the Leighton Moss Nature Reserve, as long as you keep your dog on a lead, or you could take your dog to the park at Leighton Hall. Levens Hall, on the way up to Kendal, welcomes dogs on the Levens Kitchen Terrace and in the areas surrounding it. Dogs are welcome on the Sizergh Castle estate too, although they can’t go in the main gardens. Check out our guide on things to do in Kendal for more suggestions.
All of these areas have a host of walks and other activities that are welcoming to dogs too. Each location has a selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants that allow dogs, but it’s always worth checking on an individual basis before you go, just in case.
