Our Holiday Cottages
Here at Holgates, we have a collection of holiday cottages in and around the Silverdale area. They’re perfectly situated for exploring Lancashire, neighbouring Cumbria and further north into the Lake District.
Each offers the perfect base for a break in Lancashire or the Lake District, and is a beautifully decorated space to relax in between days out in the local area.
Here’s a closer look at each of the cottages we have available. Each Lancashire holiday cottage can be hired for a short break or week-long stay and comes with access to the leisure facilities at our Silverdale Holiday Park.
Located next to the Royal Silverdale pub in the heart of the village, the Knott is also our largest cottage and sleeps up to six people, across three bedrooms.
It also has a large open-plan kitchen and living area complete with a log burning stove for the colder months and outdoor furniture to enjoy the sunset all year round. It’s also just a 5-minute walk from the beach!
The Pepper Pot is just next door to the Knott in the heart of Silverdale. It’s slightly smaller, sleeping up to four people, and features one master bedroom and one twin room, making it ideal for smaller families.
It comes complete with a log burning stove and private garden and, like the Knott, it’s next to The Royal in Silverdale for a bite to eat, plus the beach for stunning coastal views.
Cove Lodge is a fully detached property on the outskirts of the village of Silverdale. It’s been designed with families in mind, from the layout to the decor, featuring wildlife drawings by local artists and a woodland theme throughout. Cove Lodge is truly a home away from home.
It also includes all of the usual amenities, with fully equipped kitchen and space for up to six people. Cove Lodge is one of our pet-friendly cottages in Lancashire and guests can bring a dog with them for a small additional fee.
Hollins Cottage is the newest addition to our collection. It’s situated on a working farm, just outside our Silverdale holiday park, providing a break with a real difference! Hollins Cottage offers everything you’d get from our flagship holiday park, with easy access to the park’s facilities, but with the space and privacy of a proper holiday cottage that can sleep up to six people.
As well as having great views over Morecambe Bay, you may also see the odd cow, hen or goat from your window as the cottage overlooks the farm’s barns too! Hollins Cottage is one of our dog-friendly cottages near the Lake District and visitors will be allowed to bring their four-legged friend with them for a small additional fee.
Why choose a holiday cottage in Lancashire?
If you’re visiting Lancashire, we truly believe that a holiday cottage will give you the best Lancashire holiday experience you can have. Firstly, and importantly for many, it can work out a lot more affordable than staying in a hotel, especially if you’re travelling as a group.
Aside from the actual cost of the accommodation, staying in a self catering holiday cottage in Lancashire can help save money on food and drink. Being able to cook for yourself, or your whole family reduces the need to spend money on eating out for your whole trip.
The benefit isn’t purely financial, self-catering also gives you a much greater level of freedom. A self-catering holiday allows you to come and go as you please and completely tailor your break in the Lake District to your own needs.
Staying at your own holiday cottage also helps to really make you feel at home while you’re here, with a much bigger space to call your own and no other guests to share it with, other than those you’ve bought with you. If you’re travelling as a couple then it allows you to have true privacy but still have space to unwind.
